How to Use the Dental Root Posts Application

The Dental Root Posts Application is an evidence-based clinical decision support tool designed to help dental professionals select the optimal root post model and material for restoring endodontically treated teeth.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to use the application:

1. Start a New Case Assessment
From the home screen, click on the New Case wizard. The intuitive interface will guide you through entering the critical clinical parameters for your patient, including:

  • Jaw type (Maxillary or Mandibular)
  • Tooth position (Anterior, Premolar, or Molar)
  • Root measurements (length, width, and canal shape)
  • Dentin ferrule measurements (height and thickness)
  • Planned post dimensions (length and diameter)
  • Esthetic requirements

2. Review Clinical Recommendations
Once you submit the measurements, the application’s engine cross-references your inputs against over 30 years of peer-reviewed dental literature. You will instantly receive tailored recommendations for:

  • The most suitable Post Design (e.g., prefabricated, custom cast, custom CAD/CAM).
  • The optimal Material (e.g., fiberglass, metal, PEEK).
  • Specific clinical warnings (e.g., insufficient ferrule risks, short post lever effects).

3. Explore the 2D Biomechanical FEA Analysis
Switch to the Biomechanical Analysis tab to view a visual simulation of the tooth and post. The Finite Element Analysis (FEA) visualizer maps out specific stress concentration points based on your exact measurements. This helps you anticipate potential failures—such as root fractures or post debonding—before initiating the treatment.

4. Explore the Clinical Notes and Guidelines
Go to Clinical Notes and Guidelines tab to view the latest recommendation from different studies and references related to your specific case. This helps you anticipate potential failures before initiating the treatment.

5. In addition you will find : AI-Powered Research Inside and Visual Reference to the recommended posts

6. Save and Manage Case History
Save the assessment to your dashboard. You can access your History at any time to review past cases, evaluate clinical decisions, or track patient follow-ups.

7. Access the Scientific Library & Case Studies
To deepen your understanding or find the evidence backing a specific recommendation, browse the Library section. Here you can read summaries of key clinical studies. You can also visit the Case Studies section to explore real-world clinical applications submitted by other professionals or share your own successful treatments with the community.
